I am going to review please teacher as it is one of my favorite if not my favorite anime series of all time. I honestly have no idea why I like it so much just something about it grabs me and makes it interesting. I can say it is the first box set I have ever bought of an anime.
The story is fairly simple. Kusanagi Kei is a boy who moved in with his relatives in the country to get away from the city. They have taken him in and are taking care of him and life is pretty normal except for his Aunt and Uncle’s healthy sex life that is alluded to.
One evening he is laying by the lake and all of a sudden a whirlpool appears then just disappears. Soon after all of a sudden a person just appears out of nowhere and seeing as how that could freak anyone out a bit Kei runs. Unfortunately, he falls into the lake and next thing you know he is at school.
While at school a new teacher shows up that just happens to be the alien that showed up the night before on the lake side and Kei really isn’t sure what to do about it so he just acts like nothing happens and goes about his school day.
Unfortunately, later that day his new teacher moves in next door to Kei so everything picks back up when he decides to help her move in where she discovers that Kei really does remember about the night before and that she is an alien. At this point he kind of gets freaked out and tries to run away but Mizuho, the alien lady, has maria, the ship, transport him to the ship where he ends up messing a lot of things up and almost gets sucked into a black hole, luckily Mizuho gets him and they transport back to earth together; right into Kei’s Uncles bathtub just before they get in.
Screen Caps
I don’t think a hair dryer is going to do a lot for you.
Conclusion
I think what really got me hooked was how much sci-fi they threw in at the beginning while trying to keep it on the slice of life level. I think they did a good job of it to be honest. One thing though that did bug me that semmed to be a problem was when technology wouldn’t work then all of a sudden to advance the plot line it was working. This really isn’t that big of a deal since you only notice it when you disect the show a bit. I really really do recommend this anime to everyone.

If I start watching anime at a regular basis again, I’ll keep this in mind ^^
Is definitely a good watch. It is one of the first I recommend to those interested in Anime, subject matter not to good for complete non-anime fans. Heh, that gives me something to talk about in a blog post.
Yes, they do use the malfunctioning technology as a plot device, but they do explain why it doesn’t always work. After being teleported to the ship, Kei finds the control room and accidently knocks Maria off the control panel which knocks Maria unconscious for a bit. After Maria wakes up he never quite works right anymore, only obeying Mizuho when he wants and getting things wrong.
And anyone interested in this series, I also suggest Please Twins!. But, only watch it after watching Please Teacher!.
Yeah I can agree to that. I was going to expand on my one gripe in the episode review that bugs me the most. It does add to the story it not working right all the time so it doesn’t bother me too very much, again just in one spot.
