Dumb Otaku

Kenji to Yasuko

The basic idea behind this show is a girl’s parents died when she was young and the overprotective bike gangster gives up his gang to raise Yasuko by being a mangaka.  Yasuko has never had a boyfriend or a boys phone number in her cell phone until one day she meets a boy and is enamoured by him, along with every other girl in school.  Eventually, they start “dating”, but the odd thing is his sister who takes care of him has moved to Tokyo too and is in love with Yasuko’s overprotective older brother.  This leads to an interesting love story comedy as they all try to figure out there feelings and convey them to each other.

This was an ok J-Drama, not terrible but not ground breaking.  The best way to describe it I think is Great Teacher Onizuka meets Gokusen minus there being a teacher.  At times you get a little bored but usually about the time you are going ??? it picks back up and is an easy show to watch and have a good time with.  I say go ahead and watch it and have fun with it.
