Akai Haato (赤井はあと), a female Japanese Virtual YouTuber known as her Haachama (はあちゃま) persona, is associated with hololive and debuted alongside Yozora Mel, Aki Rosenthal, Natsuiro Matsuri, and Shirakami Fubuki as part of the first-generation VTubers for the platform.

A rather sassy underling. Despite being frequently prickly, she manages to draw the interest of those who have been getting along well with her. She has a fondness for red ribbons and heart-shaped patterns.
About
She seems to be a classic tsundere, though in her case, she teases her fans by calling them “kimo ota” (creepy otaku). At the moment, she is largely quiet where others can find themselves at ease, with Minecraft in particular of note. According to Houshou Marine, who was among the top-ranking managers that ordered the other hologirls to use her as an example of purity, she has also been referred to as seiso (pure) by even the higher-ups (managers, etc).
Playing video games does not equal actual skill, and as a result, Haato has more confidence than actual ability. Even when she’s not playing horror games, she often unleashes ear-splitting screams, which has earned her the reputation of being one of the most frightening people on the internet. Hato’s blessings are referred to as “Haato’s screaming.”
Her new nickname “Haachama” originally described as a less formal nickname for “Haato-sama”, however, turned out to be the polar opposite, resulting in a radical change in her character. Whereas most Hololife girls treat this as a simple case of Haato trying a different kind of character, the fanbase considers both Haato and Haachama as distinct personas, and calls the latter’s new behavior “Haachama” rather than the former. Although it had always been apparent that the Haato and Haachama had separate identities, the relationship between them continued to expand over time. Eventually, other holos that she was friends with, such as Omaru Polka and Oozora Subaru, noticed and became aware of the divide between the two.
Because she keeps reading or saying Haachama’s name, Haato will freeze or get close to being shattered. Additionally, when her sanity is intact, she will outright state to Haachama how distasteful she finds Haachama’s childishness and games. Haato is not only clever enough to take sleeping pills, but she is also smart enough to take them before bed so she can paralyze Haachama when she takes over.
While Haato can be described as an Eldritch Baby that loves repeating his name, Haachama can be said to be an Eldritch Baby that loves saying her name.
Despite her playful, giggly, and cute persona, she can sometimes come across as unsettling, deranged, or insane, particularly when wearing her favorite Lolita outfit, which is Haato’s Candy Gothic Lolita. Be all that you can be. Trying to stop the other person from being creepy is difficult. That’s why she does the same as the person she sees being creepy, like sniffing her own feet, drawing lewd pictures of herself and Tsunomaki Watame, and touching Haato’s breasts whenever she’s uncomfortable.
Though Haato has likened her fans to pigs, Haachama is more than content to enjoy a mud bath just inches away from her fans. Even by hololive’s standards, her sense of humor is bizarre. She posts short clips, mostly random, but at times pretends to be Akai Haato through a clone.
Joking about Haachama slaughtering Akai Haato while acting like she is ignorant to her existence is something that she happily plays along with. For instance, during the “Trapped Haato” arc, she would pretend to not know who Haato is, while laughing hysterically. And later on, she would finally get to fulfill her fantasy of beheading her after the short “Haato’s Amnesia” arc. It tickled her when people fretted over Haato because she thought it was all just a game to her.
Since no definite promise has been made, Haachama shows a significant amount of distaste for Haato. She enjoys psychologically haunting Haato, for example, leaving Minecraft signs indicating her greeting causes Haato to momentarily freeze. Stalking and criticizing Haato for her constant streaming while she’s asleep without permission, ultimately leading to her murdering Haato during her “#FREEHAACHAMA” stream as “revenge” (typo intentional). The severed head of Haato began searching for her body, which was now stitched together as a Haaton. Rather quickly, new torment followed. However, Haachama’s actions towards Haato, particularly in a member’s-only stream known as “H”, were not always violent or traumatic, as Haachama amused himself by making Haato think she was covered in seed when she woke up and set members of the chat up to be blamed for it for amusement.
It quickly became apparent in the “Bad End” stream that Haachama has numerous reality-altering abilities, such as the ability to make illusions appear real (making clones, beheadings, or even her own physical presence), the ability to cross into parallel realities to affect the real world, and, of course, merging with Haato while she sleeps to assume control of her. Despite her amazing capabilities, Haachama isn’t always the wisest when it comes to using her surreal abilities, as shown when she was tricked by Haato into singing “Faded” by Alan Walker which caused her to fade away until Haato was released from the technique’s control, though she was without memory of it for a few days.
Common Characteristics
Even though they differ greatly, Haato and Haachama both use cropped lewd video thumbnails, and questionable cooking skills as previously demonstrated on various streams preceding the introduction of Haachama. However, as Haachama, she began making videos that showcase how she employs reprehensible cooking methods like baking tarantulas and scorpions on fish and ramen, or boiling beef in a mixture of Mentos and cola, and is even recorded doing unthinkable things like melting marshmallows over cooked ham slices or serving scorpions on ramen and sushi.
Despite being able to communicate face to face under extreme circumstances, however, the two rarely ever actually meet each other.
