A virtual YouTuber known as Kizuna AI (also known as Kizuna AI キズナアイ, or just Kizuna) is presently a part of the company known as Activ8.
Her VTuber audience increased by more than a million subs since the year 2020, when she became the most popular.
A.I.Channel, a YouTube channel created by A.I. Kizuna, released her debut video on it on November 29, 2016.
A third channel, “A.I.Channel China”, was launched in June 2019 for the Chinese public.
Though Ami Yamato was the first to utilize a CG avatar in vlogging, since she released her first video in 2011, Kizuna is the world’s first virtual YouTuber, like the one who established the concept of virtual YouTubers.
Her videos in the earlier years were comparable to other YouTubers’ material, consisting largely of talks, Q&A videos, and Let’s Play-style videos, but now she is streaming at least once a week.
In addition to communication only in Japanese, fans submitted translations for Kizuna’s videos, and these communities provided an unauthorized means of getting the translated videos, and filled the gap until the launch of official English subtitles in 2020.
Kizuna has collaborated with several video game businesses, as well as anime conventions and actual performances.
Apart from her appearance on the YouTube series Shibuya107, she has also featured on TV shows and participated in advertisements, which includes appearing in Shibuya.
Thanks to her fame on social media, she has gained global popularity.
In 2016, Activ8, the firm that produced her, began managing her directly as Project A.I.

In April of 2020, Activ8 revealed that Kizuna AI has been relocated from upd8 to a new subsidiary, dubbed Kizuna AI Inc., which is entirely dedicated to her.
When the news of the Japanese voice actress Nozomi Kasuga’s position as the voice model of Kizuna AI and the new company’s adviser was revealed, she herself admitted that she is Kizuna AI.
On May 11, 2020, Kizuna AI Inc. began operation, with Eriko Matsumoto (松本恵利子) as CEO.
The character, Kizuna, is totally software-based.
There are video animators, producers, video editors, and gamers in the background, and they remain anonymous.
It is believed that all of Kizuna’s YouTube channels are administered by a crew of production staff, and this anonymity is retained in order to maintain the notion of a virtual idol.
Although this has created much debate about the personnel and technology, there is no way to tell if it is operational.
Activ8, located in Tokyo, produces Kizuna’s videos.
At this point, the only crew members who have been associated with Kizuna’s design are already widely recognized.
This consists of characters created by En Morikura, 3D models created by Tomitake, and modeling supervision for Tda.
Morikura is an artist well recognized for illustration, especially in comic books.
While collaborating with Tda, a specialist in the MikuMikuDance 3D modelling sector, Tomitake has developed several 3D models.
While it had been previously unclear who provided the voice for Kizuna AI, it was revealed on Twitter on April 24th, 2020, that voice actress Nozomi Kasuga was the one providing the voice.
