Learning how to style wigs can be a task in itself, but making one out of EVA foam is a whole other level. In a recent video posted on Tested’s YouTube, cosplayer and builder Jen Schachter decided to take on the challenge of building a Marie Antoinette wig entirely out of EVA foam.
Jen has been making her own costumes for Halloween for years, and this year she wanted to create one of the most iconic wigs in history. She even stated in the video that she hadn’t worked with EVA foam at all before this build, so it was “time for something ambitious.”
The entire wig is crafted out of EVA foam. Jen used cardboard for the prototype to see how it would look before taking the pieces of cardboard and tracing them onto EVA foam for the final product. Her video includes a full tutorial of how she was able to create the entire wig from creating a mold of her head with plastic wrap and painters tape, to creating the fine curl details of the wig. Jen even made a litle piece of cake prop to add to the overall look.
