On August 13th, Amazon will launch a global streaming service for the final Evangelion film, ‘Rebuild.’

Also, it has been announced that the three previously released installments in the franchise will be released on Prime Video.

Amazon has taken a step into the streaming war by launching a new platform. For those who aren’t familiar with the Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 Third Time Further, Prime Video has announced that the show will arrive on Prime Video internationally, excluding Japan, on August 13th, as previously reported by Deadline. The fourth and last part in the movie story, which had already been released in theaters last month, earned more over $86 million and so is the largest box office earner of the year. While many have already had the opportunity to catch them before, for those who have missed out, the good news is that these anime titles will also be available on Prime Video, including Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone, Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance, and Evangelion: 3.33 You Can (Not) Redo.

The Evangelion franchise has blended mechanical action with personal teenage drama, which has allowed it to be a global success and a cherished cult classic. In 2019, Netflix released the first two seasons of the anime series alongside two feature-length films titled Death True² and The End of Evangelion as part of its ongoing expansion into Japanese animation. Many people were angry when Netflix replaced the original voice actors with new actors. At the beginning of this year, the streamer made the surprising announcement that it will offer roughly 40 anime series and movies in an effort to win customers in Asia.

Instead of Netflix, Amazon had already experimented with anime with its Blade of the Immortal adaption in 2019. By acquiring Evangelion, the business has put itself on the map in the genre, and if they’re successful, they may go into more mature fare.
