The Anime “The Executioner and Her Way of Life” Reveals Its Main Cast for Its 2022 Debut

On Thursday, the official website for the TV animations of Mato Satō and Nilitsu’s “The Executioner and Her Way of Life” ( 処刑少女の生きる道 Shokei Shôjo no Virgin Road) was revised and the primary crew were introduced to the anime on Thursday, with 2022 premiers, new visual teasers and color designs.

Yoshiki Kawasaki (assistant director of Ascendance of a Bookworm) is directing the anime at J.C. Staff, while Shogo Yasukawa (Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Hyperdimension Neptunia) is supervising the series scripts. The characters are being designed by Keiko Tamaki (Cells at Work! sub-character designs). The sound is directed by Jin Aketagawa, while the music is composed by MICHIRU (Ascendance of a Bookworm, Given). EGG FIRM and SB Creative are in charge of production.

Moe Kahara is the voice of Akari; she was formerly known in the entertainment business as Moeka Kishimoto, but changed her name last month.

The key members of the cast are:

As Menou, Iori Saeki, the Executioner. A young executioner with outstanding magical talent. She is committed to her job and attempts to finish Akari before her strength comes out. She approaches her goals in a pleasant way to understand their abilities before murdering them. Her primary weapons are the short blade

As Akari, Moeka Kahara,

The Lost One. Lost One. She is loving and easy to go. Menou cannot murder her for her talent, even if she does not know it herself. Without understanding her actual goals she continues her adventure with Menou.

Yen Press publishes the novels in English and tells the story:

The Lost Ones are walkers from a faraway realm called “Japan.” Nobody knows how or why they are leaving their homes. The only thing that is definite is that they bring catastrophe and tragedy. It is the responsibility of Menou, a youthful executioner, to exterminate them without remorse. It looks like simply another assignment when she meets Akari… until she finds it’s impossible to murder this girl. And as Menou begins to find a means to overcome this immortality, Akari is more than glad to go along! So a quest begins that will permanently transform Menou… Besides the constantly popular Isekai genre of light novels, Virgin Road is an unusual release since it incorporates aspects that are not often seen in light novels that are published in English—a women protagonist and a yurian narrative.

SB Creative released the first book of the novels in July 2019 and shipped the fifth volume on February 10. The sixth book will be released on 15 August. In 2018, the novels received the GA Bunko Awards. Ryō Mitsuya debuted a manga version of the novels in the Young Gangan magazine of Square Enix in June.
